The Constitution of King Saud

King Saud was a reformer, and as a reformer he wanted to bring reform to his country in all field including political ,economic, social, administrative, and the educational sector.

And so, one of his greatest  reforms was announced :

On the 25th of December 1960, Radio Makkah announced that a new constitution for The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will be implemented along with with other reforms. This announcement was cancelled four days later due to internal pressures.

King Saud proposed constitution was made of a provincial administration and assembly, half elected, and half appointed, and would have sufficient powers to manage local affairs.

Representatives of these would constitute the central Assembly, which would advise the Council of Ministers and approve budget. He intended to create a Supreme Advisory Council of six, two from each provence, (the Hijjaz region,Najd region, Al-Ahsa region ,and the southern region).
